String: Comparing Similar Sounding Word

PHP String Tips: We can compare two words whether they similar sound or not. For this job, we use metaphone(). It's more accurate than soundex() as it knows the basic rules of English pronunciation.


$compare = (metaphone("sea") == metaphone("see")) ? "similar" : "not similar";

echo $compare;
